Gwennap Head, Penwith at 21/08/2005 19:44

2 appliances from St Just attended following concern that the smouldering remnants of a barbecue would lead to a serious gorse fire. Of particular concern was the remote location and nearby campsites, property and cattle. The crews dealt with the fire and ensured that all was safe.

General Fire Safety Advice: Barbecue Safety
Dispose of the charcoal safely after the barbecue has cooled completely. Those using gas powered barbecues should check gas pipe lines before use and ensure that the gas cylinder is connected correctly.
