At 0700 this morning the Critical Control Centre received reports of a property fire in Hayle. Appliances from Hayle, Tolvaddon and St Ives were mobilised to the incident.

On arrival crews discovered one detached property, well alight. Firefighters used four Breathing Apparatus, one Hose Reel Jet and a Mains Jet to extinguish the fire.

Police, Ambulance and Western Power Distribution were also assisting on scene.

Fires happen when you least expect them, often during the night. They also spread very quickly, damaging property, killing and injuring people. A smoke alarm is a warning device that detects smoke at the earliest stages of a fire. When it detects a fire, it will make a piercing noise to alert or wake you.
