Cornwall Fire and Rescue service received a call from a member of the public reporting a fire in the open near Foundry Lane, Hayle. One pump from Hayle Community Fire Station were immediately mobilised by Critical Control.

On arrival the officer in charge confirmed a manned bonfire approximately one meter by 5 meters. Advice was given and an incident hand over form was complete.

Tell the Critical Control Operator:
• Your location.
• Time you intend to start burning.
• Confirm when you have finished burning.

This helps us avoid sending fire engines to false alarms when they could be responding to a real emergency.
