Cornwall Fire and Rescue service received a call from a member of the public reporting an electrical fire in a field near Newham Lane, Newham. One pump from Helston Community Fire Station was immediately mobilised by Critical Control.

On arrival the officer in charge confirmed one electrical pole, which had fallen in the field and monitored the scene while waiting for the attendance of Western Power. With Western Power in attendance to make the scene safe crews investigated and began to extinguish sixty meters of hedge using one hose reel jet.

The incident was left safe and in the hands of the land owners and Western Power.
