At 13:07 this afternoon an appliance from Saltash and Camels Head, along with a whole time Officer were mobilised to a residential garage fire.

On arrival crews discovered a detached property, with an attached garage, well alight. Firefighters used Breathing Apparatus, one Hose Reel Jet and a Triple Extension ladder to extinguish the fire.

Small tools were used to cut away and the roof void was checked for fire spread. Firefighters remain on scene making up equipment.

The fire has been confirmed as accidental and confined.

Fires happen when you least expect them, often during the night. They also spread very quickly, damaging property, killing and injuring people. A smoke alarm is a warning device that detects smoke at the earliest stages of a fire. When it detects a fire, it will make a piercing noise to alert or wake you.
