Cornwall Fire and Rescue service received a call from a South West Ambulance Service requesting assistance to rescue a person who was stuck on scaffolding in Trethurgy, St Austell. One pump from St Austell Community Fire Station was immediately mobilised by Critical Control along with a whole time officer.
On arrival the officer in charge confirmed on person approximately 5 meters high on the second level of scaffolding, who had become immobile due to a back spasm. The line rescue tender and one additional pump from Tolvaddon Community Fire Station were requested to assist crews.
Crews assisted Ambulance to successfully lower the person on a stretcher to the ground and was left in the safe hands of the South West Ambulance Service.
