Caravan Fire

Glansey Road, Falmouth at 03/09/2018 00:07

An appliance from Falmouth attended a fire of a caravan parked on a driveway at 23:20 this evening. On arrival Firefighters confirmed the caravan was well alight and used two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets from a hydrant to extinguish the blaze. A thermal imaging camera and further hose was used on any hotspots before leaving the scene.

The cause is believed to be arson and Police are investigating.

Anyone with information on fires being deliberately started in the countryside are advised to anonymously call Crimestoppers free on 0800 555 111 or contact Devon and Cornwall Police on 101 with information.
Arson puts both the public and firefighters at unnecessary risk. It ties up resources that could be in demand for other more serious incidents.
A lot of Cornwall is covered by on-call firefighters, so there's also a significant cost to each incident.
