Chimney Fire

One appliance from Lostwithiel Community Fire Station was mobilised to a chimney fire at 20:36 this evening.
Firefighters discovered one log burner, with a small fire above the register plate. Chimney rods and small tools were used to gain access and extinguish the fire.
During 2016/17 Cornwall firefighters tackled 155 chimney fires. Most chimney fires are preventable by having them swept regularly.
