At 0511 on Thursday 1st September a fire was reported at a property in Bodriggy Crescent, Hayle. A crew from Camborne were on scene at 0522 and reported a small fire in the attic. St Ives crew arrived on scene at 0530. The fire was dealt with by crews wearing breathing apparatus who used a hosereel to extinguish the fire and later a positive pressure ventilating fan to clear the smoke. An ambulance attended the scene to check 3 people who had escaped the fire for possible smoke inhalation. A dog and a budgie also escaped the fire.

Neighbours are looking after the family until alternative housing can be arranged.
