House Fire

Crestbourne Terrace, Dobwalls at 12/09/2005 11:30

The first call for this incident stated that a property had smoke issuing from its upstairs windows. Both appliances from Liskeard and a further appliance from Bodmin were mobilised. On arrival smoke and flames were seen to be issuing from the property and further resources were required. Fire engines from Lostwithiel and Callington were mobilised to the incident as well as the aerial ladder platform from Truro, the Command Support Vehicle and a further specialist appliance from St. Austell. The property was a mid terraced property. One male was rescued from the property and was taken care of by West Country Ambulance personnel. Teams of firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hosereels and jets to fight the fire and to stop it spreading to the neighbouring properties. Positive pressure ventilation fans were used at the incident. The house was on the main A38 through Dobwalls and the road was closed for a considerable time. The fire is being treated as suspicious and a Fire Investigation Team and police checked the property. The Arson Detection Dog Charlie is assisting them.
