Falmouth Fire Station will be celebrating its 30th Birthday on 15th October 2005 from 11am - 4pm. Firefighters from the station have organised a variety of events to celebrate the occasion. These include:

X A practical demonstration of a rescue from the Aerial Ladder Platform
X A competition to win a Ford Ka (to be drawn at Christmas)
X A demonstration showing the dangers of leaving a chip pan unattended
X A presentation of the water rescue equipment firefighters are trained to use
X A road traffic collision demonstration
X A display of Vintage Fire Engines
X Richard Gibbons and his Arson Detection dog Charlie
X Guided tours of the fire station
X Firefighter Dylan Popperwellˇ¦s Community Safety interactive computer programme
X Home Safety Check register
X Name the Fire Engine competition to commemorate the birthday
X Win a day with the firefighters

Station Officer Dave Carlisle said: "The firefighters at Falmouth have worked hard to ensure that the stations birthday is celebrated in style.
"We hope that those visiting will firstly enjoy themselves but also gain an appreciation of all the different roles firefighters play in keeping the people of Cornwall safe"
