Chimney Fire

Six firefighters one one appliance from Launceston attended a call to a property with a chimney fire. The property was smoke logged on crews arrival and crews administered oxygen to one male suffering from smoke inhalation. Ambulance attended the incident to treat the casualty. Firefighters used a chimney kit to extinguish the fire which was accessed through an inspection plate in the chimney. There are no more details available on this incident.

During 2016/17 Cornwall firefighters tackled 155 chimney fires. Most chimney fires are preventable by having them swept regularly.
