Five firefighters from Fowey attended a call to a property with a chimney fire. Fire crews used a stirrup pump and rods to clear the fire in the flue.

During 2016/17 Cornwall firefighters tackled 155 chimney fires. Most chimney fires are preventable by having them swept regularly.
