An appliance from Newquay was alerted by several members of public to a large fire beside the A30 at Mitchell today.
On arrival the crew found it to be a controlled burn and advice was given to the responsible person to report any future controlled burns to The Critical Control Centre.

All controlled burns phoned in will be added to our mobilising system preventing appliances being unnecessarily mobilised and therefore being unavailable for true emergency calls.
