Whilst Cornwall fire appliances were committed at a property fire nearby, an appliance from Camelshead was providing fire cover at Saltash. At 11:55 it was mobilised to a property in Lower Burraton following a single call reporting a bbq on the decking alight. On arrival the crew reported the fire had spread to the house and requested a further two fire appliances to assist. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and a hose reel to enter the property, rescuing a dog and confirmed no other persons were inside. The crews extinguished the fire and cut away near the roof space , patio and window to check for hot spots before leaving the scene. A fire investigation is now taking place to determine the cause of the fire.
