Fire Involving 30 Hectares of Gorse

35 Firefighters from Wadebridge, St Columb, Padstow, St Dennis and Bodmin attended a large gorse fire that was burning on 2 fronts, each about a quarter of a mile in length and being fanned by strong winds.
The crews used beaters to bring the fire under control by 2139hrs, after about 30 hectares of gorse had been involved in the blaze. The crews remained on scene for a further 30 minutes.
Arson is suspected, the police and the Arson Task Force are now dealing.
