Cooker Fire- Alerted By Detector

St Keyne, Near Liskeard at 01/07/2019 10:27

At 0907 Critical Control received a call from a member of public who had heard a smoke detector sounding in his neighbours property. On investigating, the neighbour smelt smoke and called The Fire Service.
Twelve firefighters riding appliances from Liskeard and Looe, as well as a wholetime officer were mobilised to the address in St Keyne.
On arrival the crew confirmed the room was heavily smoke logged and there had been a fire on the cooker hob which had actuated the alarm. Firefighters confirmed the fire was out and ventilated the room using a positive pressure fan.
