The Critical Control Centre received an emergency call at 13:25 to a smell of burning at a retail unit in Meneage Street, Helston. Crews from Helston, Mullion and Falmouth Community Fire Stations were mobilised, along with 2 officers.

Crews used breathing apparatus and a hosereel jet. A thermal imaging camera was also used.

Police attended and closed the road. The road has now reopened.

The cause of the smoke is believed to be an electrical fault. All crews have now left the scene.
