At 16:06 the Critical Control Centre received multiple calls from members of the public, stating that a fire had been sighted in a field.

Two appliances from Newquay and an Officer were mobilised to the incident. On arrival, crews discovered approx. four acres of dry grass on fire.

Firefighters are using Beaters and a Hose Reel to extinguish the fire.

The fire has now been extinguished. However, crew are remaining on scene to monitor and deal with further hotspots.
