Critical Control received a non-emergency call reporting vehicles broken down in flood water. As a precaution one appliance from Liskeard Community Fire Station and one Water Rescue Unit from St Austell Community Fire Station. Two Flexi Duty Officers were also mobilised to take command of the incident. An officer arrived on scene first and had difficulty proceeding further due to the amount of water. When the appliance from Liskeard arrived the crew and the officer proceeding under caution through the flood water in order to locate a camper van. Crews located an elderly female in a camper van, however the elderly male occupant had left the vehicle and made his way upstream to get help. Fortunately the male was located by crews and the couple who were uninjured were taken home.
