Critical Control received a 999 call from a farmer concerned for the safety of 50 sheep stuck near to quickly rising flood water.
Whilst animal rescue is generally the responsibility of the RSCPA, as the lives of the animals were in imminent danger a decision was made by senior officers to mobilise fire and rescue resources to the incident for saveable animal life.
One appliance from Launceston Community Fire Station and two water rescue teams, one each from Bude and St Austell Community Fire Station's were mobilised along with two Flexi Duty Officers.
On arrival crews in protective equipment entered the water and used a hose inflation kit to move the sheep to safe ground.
