At 05:57 Critical Control received a 999 call reporting a car on fire. One appliance was mobilised from Launceston Community Fire Station. Whilst the crew were en route Control continued to receive multiple 999 calls to the incident.
On arrival crews found one car well alight. Two breathing apparatus wearers used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

A second appliance from Launceston Community Fire Station was mobilised to the incident due to petrol leaking from a ruptured fuel tank.
