At 0200hrs the Critical Control Centre received a 999 call reporting the fire alarm system at Park House Flats was sounding. Immediately crews from St Austell, St Dennis, Mevagissey and Truro were mobilized.

On arrival crews investigated the alarm and found a small fire in one of the flats, which seemed to be involving the electrics within the flat. An additional appliance from Lostwitheil and Incident Command Unit from Launceston was mobilized.

Crews using breathing apparatus swiftly extinguished the fire and confirmed all persons had been accounted for when evacuating. An initial fire investigation has taken place and the cause has been identified as a faulty electrical socket.

The incident has been handed over to the owners of the property.
