At 23:16 Critical Control began to receive multiple 999 calls reporting a vehicle on fire. One appliance was initially mobilised to the incident from Tolvaddon Community Fire Station. While on route another appliance from Tolvaddon which was closer became available and was tasked to attend this incident.

On arrival two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus (BA) using two hose reel jets extinguished the fire. Due to the nature of the incident Devon and Cornwall Police were informed and attended the incident themselves. Western Power Distribution were informed due to damage to an electricity pole, and Cornwall Council Highways were notified due to slight damage to the road surface.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage.
