Wendron Street / Parc-An-Dower, Helston at 23/12/2019 21:22

Critical Control received a 999 call reporting a telegraph pole on fire on Wendron Street. An appliance from Helston Community Fire Station was mobilised. Critical Control requested the attendance of Western Power Distribution due to the nature of the incident. On arrival crews found approximately 150 metres of cable glowing red, and firefighters notified local residents.

Crews were informed by local residents of a further incident at Parc-An-Dower nearby. Because of this an additional appliance from Mullion Community Fire Station was mobilised as well as a Flexi Duty Officer.

Crews investigated and ensured there was no risk of fire and the incident was handed over to Western Power Distribution.
