Barn Fire - Update 0855hrs 25/12/2019

***MAKE PUMPS 7 & WATER CARRIER 1***

At 13:45 the Critical Control Centre received a number of emergency calls reporting an agricultural fire in Launceston.

Initially, two appliances from Launceston were mobilised. On arrival, the crews confirmed smoke issuing and request assistance from a further 3 appliances and a water carrier. Following this, further appliances from Bodmin, Callington and Delabole were mobilised with a water carrier from Liskeard.

Shortly after, further assistance was requested and appliances from Bude and Liskeard were mobilised.

Crews report an agricultural building measuring approx. 30m by 20m fully engulfed in fire. Various farming machinery, wood and cylinders are inside.

In total, 7 appliances, 4 officers, 1 water carrier, 2 operational support vehicles, 1 incident command unit, 1 environmental support vehicle and a welfare unit will be assisting when all book in attendance.

Update: 17:30 All details as previous. Firefighters are continuing to use hose reels to fight the fire.

Update @ 2046hrs: The incident is now scaling down and there will 2 appliances left on scene overnight.

Update @ 08:55hrs 25/12/2019
One appliance from Looe has been in attendance for most of the night, monitoring for hotspots and damping down. They have now been relieved by a crew from Bodmin Fire Station. A wholetime officer will be attending this morning to reassess the incident.
