At 12:54 Critical Control received a 999 call after a manual call point was activated at a hospital premises. Two appliances were mobilised from Truro Community Fire Station and a Flexi-Duty Station Manager. At the same time a further manual call point was activated resulting in another 999 call at 12:55 for a separate part of the hospital. As a result, a further two appliances from Tolvaddon and Perranporth Community Fire Stations were mobilised.
On arrival crews carried out a thorough investigation and found that both call points had been activated after people could smell smoke from an external source not on the premises. As a result the incident has been classified as a false alarm with good intent (FAGI).
