Two fire appliances from Bude are in attendance at a fire in a house, measuring approximately 25 metres by 10 metres. The fire is on the ground floor and firefighters are working hard to prevent the fire spreading to the first floor.

Two additional pumps have been requested and these are en-route from Delabole and Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service's Holsworthy Fire Station.

Update 1230hrs:
The four pumps are in attendance and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are using hosereel jets to try and prevent the fire from spreading to the first floor. An incident command unit is en-route from Launceston and a breathing apparatus support unit is en-route from St Austell.

The road between Inches Shop and the Post Office at Poughill has been closed and drivers are requested to avoid the area.

Update 1330hrs:
The fire has been extinguished and the fire crews are making up their kit. An investigation into how the fire started has begun.
