Critical Control received a 999 call reporting a residential garage on fire. One appliance from Torpoint Community Fire Station and one appliance from Camels Head Community Fire Station in Plymouth were mobilised, along with a Flexi-Duty Station Manager from Liskeard. A second 999 call reported that people may be inside the property, therefore the incident was made Persons Reported and an additional appliance was requested from Greenbank Community Fire Station, along with the Ambulance Service. On arrival crews from Torpoint quickly established all persons were accounted for.

Firefighters were faced with well developed fire, and initially 2 breathing apparatus (BA) wearers using 1 hose reel jet and 1 main jet attempted to extinguish the fire, rising to 4 BA wearers. The attached garage was completely destroyed by fire and it had spread to a neighbouring property. Both Wales and West Utilities and Western Power Distribution were requested to assist crews on scene.
