Critical Control received multiple calls reporting a vehicle on fire on Lake Lane, Liskeard. An appliance from Liskeard Community Fire Station was mobilised to the incident, and an appliance from Callington was mobilised to standby at Liskeard for fire cover in case of other incidents.

On arrival crews found the vehicle well alight. 2 breathing apparatus (BA) wearers used 2 hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. The police were requested as the cause is believed to be arson.

Crews handed over to police upon their arrival, and returned to home station. The crew from Callington also returned to their home station at this time. Police have arranged recovery of the vehicle and Cornwall Council Highways have attended to repair the road surface which was damaged during the fire.
