Smell of Burning

At 02:30 the Critical Control Centre received an emergency call, stating that there was a smell of burning inside a residential property.

Appliances from Camels Head, Greenbank and Torpoint were mobilised to the incident.

On arrival, firefighters completed a thorough search of the property and confirmed the incident was a false alarm. Crew from Torpoint remained on scene fitting smoke detectors.

Fires happen when you least expect them, often during the night. They also spread very quickly, damaging property, killing and injuring people. A smoke alarm is a warning device that detects smoke at the earliest stages of a fire. When it detects a fire, it will make a piercing noise to alert or wake you.
