Critical Control received a 999 call reporting a chimney fire in a timber framed property. The caller state the flue was red hot and that smoke was entering the property. Due to this the incident was classified as a residential fire rather than an isolated chimney fire.
Two appliances from Bodmin Community Fire Station were mobilised along with a Flexi-Duty Station Manager. On arrival crews found a wood burner with a temperature of approximately 500 Degrees Celsius and one room heavily smoke logged. Crews used a Hearth Kit and Hose Reel Jet to extinguish the fire.
