An appliance from Penzance on arrival at this incident found a gorse fire buning across a 300 metre front, the crew monitored the fire and allowed it to burn to natural breaks, a relief crew from St. Just attended and monitored the fire, approximately 15 hectares of gorse burnt and was extinguished using beaters. The crew finally returned to station at approximately 0030 hours. Arson was suspected. Devon & Cornwall Police and The Arson Task Force are aware and dealing.
