At 23:08 the Critical Control Centre received an emergency call, regarding a fire in a residential property.

Two appliances from Penzance and one from St Just attended the incident, along with a Whole Time Officer.

On arrival crew discovered a small cottage with a fire in the ground floor bathroom. Firefighters used two Breathing Apparatus and one Hose Reel Jet to extinguish the fire.

Crew remain on scene ventilating the property.

Fires happen when you least expect them, often during the night. They also spread very quickly, damaging property, killing and injuring people. A smoke alarm is a warning device that detects smoke at the earliest stages of a fire. When it detects a fire, it will make a piercing noise to alert or wake you.
