St Teresa's Cheshire Home, Longrock, near Penzance at 11/02/2006 14:08
Firefighters from Penzance, St Ives and Camborne were called to a fire at St Teresas Chesire Home at 1408hrs. They immediately began to assist in leading the disabled and elderly residents to safety but unfortunately one male resident had already died.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used 3 hosereels to deal with this incident.
The exact cause of the fire is unknown and an investigation will continue.
The thoughts of the firefighters and Fire Control staff are with the family and friends at this devastating time.
