At 17:41 Critical Control received a 999 call reporting a person had fallen whilst cooking, was unable to get up, and the cooker was potentially on fire. Because of the risk to life three appliances were mobilised - two from Newquay Community Fire Station and one from St Columb Community Fire Station - as well as an Incident Commander. Police and ambulance were also requested.

On arrival crews forced entry into the property where there was a strong smell of burning from a grill pan. The occupant was removed to a place of safety and crews administered oxygen therapy until the arrival of paramedics.

Once the scene was made safe crews handed over to the police and ambulance crews.
