Critical Control received a total of 29 calls to a garage on fire in Dobwalls this evening.

Initially two appliances from Liskeard and a wholetime officer were mobilised but following several calls reporting the garage to be well alight and gas cylinders exploding, an additional appliance from Lostwithiel was also sent to the scene.

The crews were faced with a single storey garage that was well alight and proceeded to extinguish using four sets of breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and one covering jet.

UPDATE: 01:03 Fire now extinguished.

UPDATE: 02:00 One appliance remains on scene at this time monitoring hotspots.
