Critical Control were contacted at 10:49 by Ambulance Control reporting an industrial accident involving one casualty who was trapped under unstable machinery. One appliance was mobilised from Truro Community Fire Station and a Rescue Tender from Tolvaddon Community Fire Station. The nearest Wholetime Station Manager was mobilised as the Incident Commander and the nearest Technical Rescue Tactical Advisor was also mobilised, who was a second Wholetime Station Manager. Due to it being an industrial accident the police were also notified of the incident and attended the scene.

On arrival crews found one casualty, a 35 year old male, with crush injuries to his upper body. The casualty had been released prior to arrival of the fire service. Crews used air bags from the Rescue Tender to stabilise the machinery. Cornwall Air Ambulance attended the incident however the casualty was taken to hospital by road.

The injuries are possibly life-changing. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) have been informed of the incident.
