Large Fire In Open

At around 15:04 Critical Control began to receive multiple 999 calls reporting a large amount of smoke near to the A39 Bridge near the town. A total of 22 999 calls have been received for the incident. One appliance from Wadebridge was initially mobilised.

On arrival the crew requested assistance from the 4x4 Appliance at Wadebridge and an additional Fire Appliance, which was mobilised from Bodmin.

A Wholetime Group Manager was also mobilised and is in attendance as the Incident Commander.

The cause is unknown at this time. Police are currently on scene and have officers deployed on the A39 bridge to deal with a number of vehicles which has stopped to watch the fire.
