Industrial Unit Fire

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service attended a fire at an industrial unit measuring 6 x 20 metres. The first call was received at 20:30 this evening reporting a car fire. Initially one appliance was mobilised, however on crews arrival they confirmed the fire involved an industrial unit and requested a further four fire appliances to attend, two appliances from Launceston, one from Callington and one from Liskeard were sent to the scene. At 21:02 a fifth fire appliance was requested to attend, one appliance from Delabole was sent on to the incident. Specialist vehicles have also been mobilised to the scene, these include the Incident Command Unit from Launceston, the Operational Support Vehicle from St Austell and the Environmental Protection Unit with supporting fire appliance from Saltash. The fire ground has been sectorised and crews are working to prevent the fire spreading to a neighbouring industrial unit. Details updated at 21:35.

21:38 A request for 'Make Pumps 6 for breathing apparatus' was made at 21:35, an additional appliance from Bodmin was mobilised to scene.

23:33 Stop Message: Down-scaling to two pumps. Fire now extinguished. Crew checking for hotspots.
