Critical Control recieved a 999 call at approximately 08:45hrs this morning reporting a fire in a residential property in Rosudgeon. The caller could see smoke coming from the property and flames in an upstairs room. They were able to confirm everyone was already out of the property.
Appliances from Penzance and Helston Fire Stations were immediately mobilised, along with a wholetime officer.
On arrival the officer confirmed smoke was coming out of an upstairs room, the first appliance committed Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus, with a hosereel to find the source of the fire. Further Firefighters using breathing apparatus were committed to the building on arrival of the additional appliances.
Crews requested the attendance of Western Power Distribution to isolate the electrics to the property.
At 09:37hrs the incident commander confirmed the fire had been extinguished and requested that a Fire Investigation Team were mobilised. This team conducted an investigation to conclude the fire was accidental and confined.
Crews ensured neighbouring properties had been unaffected by the fire before returning to their home stations.
