At 11.30 Critical Control received the first of three 999 calls reporting a tractor fire and associated smoke in the area. Two appliances were mobilised, one from Falmouth and one from Helston, along with a Wholetime Station Manager.

On arrival crews found one tractor well alight, and two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus attempted to bring the fire under control. The tractor was carrying approximately 240 litres of diesel.

The fire was extinguished at 12.20. The cause was accidental and the fire was confined to the tractor.
