She cont: “I accomplished a personal best in every individual swimming event. It was an awesome experience and I can’t wait for the next one!”

The World Firefighters Games is held every two years and is the biggest event for professional firefighters from around the world. In 2004 Firefighter Samantha Morris won 5 Golds and 2 Silvers in the World Firefighters Games in Sheffield.
Assistant Chief Fire Officer Ted Simpson said: “We are extremely proud of Samantha’s achievements in Hong Kong: it is fantastic news for Sam and Cornwall County Fire Brigade. We have such an array of talented staff who regularly compete with other firefighters both nationally and internationally. Our congratulations to Sam – for promoting Cornish talent to the World”

Cornwall County Fire Brigade were unable to fund Sam’s trip to Hong Kong. Fortunately local company Sprig and Stock, a corporate and social hospitality company, were able to donate her travel expenses and Windsor Court Social Club donated £150.
