Fire - Persons Reported

Falmouth at 29/07/2020 03:54

At 03:54 Critical Control received a call from Police, stating that a person had made a 999 call to them reporting a fire alarm sounding in a residential property and a female screaming. On this basis the incident was made 'Persons Reported' and three appliances were mobilised - two from Falmouth and one from Tolvaddon. An Area Manager was the nearest Officer to the incident and was therefore mobilised. This is part of our normal mobilising procedure, the nearest Wholetime Officers will always be sent to a life risk incident regardless of rank.

After contacting the original caller and upon further investigation, we were satisfied that there was no immediate threat to life, and therefore the appliance from Tolvaddon and Area Manager were stood down. The two appliances from Falmouth still proceeded to confirm there was no fire.

Fire crews met with Police on scene and confirmed the incident was a "False Alarm with Good Intent".
