On receipt of this call, appliances from Truro, Tolvaddon and Falmouth were mobilised, on arrival, the fire was confirmed as 'Persons Reported' and smoke issuing, teams of firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hosereel jet and a dry powder extinguisher to extinguish the fire and rescue one person from a first floor flat of a block of flats measuring sixteen by ten metres. Police were requested also an ambulance to treat a casualty for the effects of smoke inhalation. Arson was suspected, Devon & Cornwall Police arrested one person at the scene.
