Fire At Disused Service Station - 4 Pumps

Two fire appliances from Launceston and two fire appliances from Devon Fire & Rescue Service's Tavistock Fire Station attended a fire in a disused service station. The single storey building, measuring about 10 metres by 15 metres, was well alight and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used 2 jets and 2 hosereels to bring the fire under control by 0700hrs.
The road was closed for a time to allow firefighters to carry out their duties and to prevent passers-by from entering a hazardous area.
Arson is suspected and an investigation is being carried out by officers from Devon and the police.
