Large Barn Fire (6 Pumps)

At 17:04 Critical Control received the first of three 999 calls to a barn on fire. Three appliances were initially mobilised from Tolvaddon, Truro and Perranporth Fire Stations as well as a Group Manager from Penzance.

Upon arrival crews sent an Assistance Message 'Make Pumps 4'. An additional appliance was mobilised from Hayle Fire Station.

A second Assistance Message was sent to Control at 17:34 'Make Pumps 6 Water Carrier 1'. Two additional appliances were mobilised from Tolvaddon and St Ives Fire Stations, as well as an Incident Command Unit from St Just Fire Station, an Operational Support Unit from Falmouth Fire Station and Station Manager from Bodmin.

The barn measures approximately 20 metres x 15 metres and is well alight.

Two additional appliances have been mobilised for standby purposes: An appliance from Helston is providing fire cover in the Camborne-Pool-Redruth conurbation, and another from Penzance is providing fire cover in the St Ives area.
