Kitchen Fire

Hallworthy at 22/09/2020 19:51

The Critical Control Centre received a 999 call at 19:51hrs reporting a fire in a kitchen at a property in Hallworthy. Crews from Delabole and Launceston were immediately mobilised along with a wholetime officer.

Fire crews reported back to the Critical Control Centre that a kitchen fire had been discovered, crews were using breathing aparatus, hose reel jets and powder extinguishers to fight the fire. All persons had left the property and were accounted for.

Once the fire had been extinguished, a thermal imaging camera was used to check for any fire spread. Soon smoke was seen coming from a ceiling void. Firefighters proceeded to remove floor boards from the room above to expose the void, crews found the fire had spread to the void and it was quickly extinguished using a hose reel jet.

Positive pressure ventilation fans were used to clear the property of smoke before handing the incident back to the owners.
