At 01:43 Critical Control received a non-emergency call from an occupant with concerns about a carbon monoxide alarm sounding. As the alarm also gave a digital reading that carbon monoxide was present, a decision was made to mobilise crews to investigate.

Two appliances, one from Hayle and one from St Ives were mobilised along with a Station Manager from Truro. Crews wearing breathing apparatus carried out gas testing in the affected property and two adjacent properties. Four properties were temporarily evacuated as a precaution.

After completing relevant gas testing the Incident Commander was satisfied that there was no risk from carbon monoxide and resources were released from the incident back to their home stations.
