Critical Control received a 999 call at 03:35 reporting an electrical fire in a residential property. Three appliances were initially mobilised from Lostwithiel, Fowey and Bodmin as well as a Wholetime Station Manager. A fourth appliance was mobilised from Polruan shortly after due to the remote location of the incident.

On arrival two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus immediately entered the property to prevent escalation and spread of the fire, otherwise known as 'rapid deployment'.

Crews confirmed that the fire was in the rear of the property and that all persons were accounted for.

As the fire involved the electricity supply assistance was requested from Western Power Distribution.

At 04:26 crews confirmed that the fire had been extinguished and used positive pressure ventilation (PPV) fans to clear smoke from the property.

At 05:11 the incident was scaled back to three appliances.

An on-call crew from Bodmin Fire Station remained on their station to provide emergency cover for Bodmin and Lostwithiel while the incident was dealt with.
